From $95 USD
Compatible with: Dodge Ram 1500 2002–2010 | 3rd Gen | 4WD & 2WD
The 3rd generation Dodge Ram 1500 (2002–2010) is one of the most popular trucks in Canada and the US — loved for its HEMI V8 power and rugged capability. But rear brake wear is a common issue, especially on trucks used for towing or driven in hilly terrain. Apex Auto Spare Parts stocks complete rear brake kits — pads and rotors together — so you get everything you need for a proper rear brake service in one order.

Why Replace Rear Brakes as a Kit?
Replacing pads only — without the rotors — is one of the most common brake mistakes. If your rotors have grooves, scoring, or are close to minimum thickness, new pads will wear unequally against the damaged surface. This causes noise, vibration, and shortened pad life. Always replace pads and rotors together on the same axle.
Towing & Heavy Use — Which Pads?
If you tow a trailer, haul heavy loads, or drive in mountainous terrain in BC or Quebec, choose the semi-metallic pad option. Semi-metallic pads handle heat better than ceramic under sustained heavy braking. For daily highway driving, ceramic pads are quieter and produce less dust.
Installation Tips — Dodge Ram 1500 Rear Brakes
- Rear brake pistons on the Ram 1500 ROTATE in — you need a caliper rewind tool, not just a C-clamp
- Clean the caliper bracket slides with a wire brush and apply fresh brake grease
- Apply copper anti-seize to the rear rotor hat (hub contact area) to prevent rust seizure
- Torque the caliper mounting bolts to 26 ft-lb and the caliper bracket to 85 ft-lb
- Bed in new brakes with 10 progressive stops from 60 km/h before hard braking
